This notice explains account data, recording storage, analytics, and consent-controlled OpenAI and Microsoft Azure processing.
SpeakSynq temporarily stores a practice recording in private storage when you choose to upload it. Microsoft Azure powers the primary pronunciation feedback when its separate consent is active. OpenAI transcription can add an independently detected sentence. If full pronunciation processing is unavailable, SpeakSynq can use that transcript for sentence-and-timing fallback feedback. You may allow or revoke either processor separately. Replaced recordings are deleted, and remaining recordings are deleted when the practice session ends or becomes inactive.
SpeakSynq stores your account name, email, connected sign-in identifiers, session security information, profile preferences, practice activity, progress, review items, private YouTube set details and confirmed segment text. Uploaded recordings are held in private Cloudflare R2 storage for practice and feedback. Postmark delivers verification and password-reset email. Google, Facebook and Apple handle the sign-in you choose; the YouTube player connects directly to YouTube. Provider transcripts, scores and other practice history remain until the corresponding history or account is deleted. Microphone drafts remain in the device cache for recovery and are removed when discarded, when you sign out, or when you request account deletion.

OpenAI and Microsoft Azure processing each requires current provider-specific consent and is disabled when that consent is absent or revoked. If full pronunciation processing is unavailable, SpeakSynq falls back to sentence-and-timing feedback, then local timing feedback.
After current OpenAI consent, SpeakSynq sends only the short learner recording for transcription. SpeakSynq stores the derived transcript and sentence-and-timing result. Revoking consent blocks future calls but cannot retract processing that already occurred.
After current Azure consent, SpeakSynq sends the short learner recording and segment reference text to the configured Azure Speech region. SpeakSynq stores normalized scores and feedback. Raw provider JSON is off by default and is never returned directly to the browser.
Stripe handles web payments, Apple and Google handle store payments, and Adapty manages purchase verification across devices. Billing uses an account identifier separate from optional product analytics. Billing providers and the mobile billing SDK process purchase and necessary device information under their own policies. Optional advertising and attribution collection is disabled. We keep a protected purchase fingerprint for as long as a purchase can be restored, indefinitely for lifetime purchases. After deleting your account, this registry keeps no former account link, name, email or raw transaction identifier. All purchase recovery after deletion requires support approval. Billing providers may retain payment records under their own retention rules.
After you opt in, PostHog receives a random identifier for this browser or device and approved SpeakSynq usage events: signup, onboarding, practice, recording and feedback outcomes, feature use and return usage. Events include platform, language, release and coarse outcome/duration context. The collection service can observe request metadata such as your IP address. We do not send your account identity, recordings, transcripts, scores, content, storage URLs, form values or raw errors. No session replay, automatic button tracking or exception collection is used. Unsent events expire within 24 hours. Declining clears pending events and the local identifier; already delivered events follow the analytics service retention policy. Contact support for analytics data requests. Choices are separate on each browser/device and from speech-processing consent.

You can request full account deletion after signing in recently. A seven-day grace period allows cancellation. New practice is blocked during that period. After it ends, recordings and provider objects are verifiably deleted before account, profile, attempts, scores, consents, private YouTube sets, and profile-attributed usage are removed. Anonymous service totals and the protected purchase registry described below may remain. Cleanup failures keep the account blocked and visible for retry. Backups are required to expire under the configured 30-day lifecycle and cannot be selectively rewritten. Hosting and backup protections require operator verification.
