This beta notice explains account data, recording storage, analytics, and optional OpenAI and Microsoft Azure processing.
Speak Synq temporarily stores a practice recording in private storage when you choose to upload it. OpenAI transcript processing and Microsoft Azure Pronunciation Detail are separate, optional choices with separate consent. Replaced recordings are deleted, and remaining recordings are deleted when the practice session ends or becomes inactive.
OpenAI and Microsoft Azure processing is optional, requires a current provider-specific consent, and is disabled when that consent is absent or revoked.
After current OpenAI consent, Speak Synq sends only the short learner recording for transcription. Speak Synq stores the derived transcript and Practice Match result. Revoking consent blocks future calls but cannot retract processing that already occurred.
After current Azure consent, Speak Synq sends the short learner recording and segment reference text to the configured Azure Speech region. Speak Synq stores normalized scores and feedback. Raw provider JSON is off by default and is never returned directly to the browser.
You can request full account deletion after signing in recently. A seven-day grace period allows cancellation. New practice is blocked during that period. After it ends, recordings and provider objects are verifiably deleted before account, profile, attempts, scores, consents, private YouTube sets, and profile-attributed usage are removed. Only anonymous operational totals remain. Cleanup failures keep the account blocked and visible for retry. Encrypted backups expire after 30 days and cannot be selectively rewritten.
PostHog receives an anonymous browser identifier and only approved speak-synq-prefixed event names after you opt in. No product, content, or personal-data properties are sent; a required processing flag explicitly disables person profiles. Speak Synq does not send recordings, transcripts, storage URLs, email addresses, provider payloads, or account/profile identifiers. Session recording, automatic capture, and exception capture are not implemented.
Analytics is off on this browser. Speak Synq does not use a third-party error-tracking service.
Account deletion has a seven-day cancellation period. After irreversible cleanup starts, it cannot be cancelled. Sign in again if your session is more than 15 minutes old.
